We are preparing to take legal action against SB494 in the courts. Our intention is to file a lawsuit against the State of Georgia and the Department of Agriculture, challenging the legality of SB494. This bill has redefined THCA, which was already defined by the Federal Government in the 2018 Hemp Farm Bill, and has imposed restrictions on the sale of flower, accounting for approximately 65% of industry sales.

Recently, we successfully opposed two detrimental bills in Georgia: SB33, which would have limited all products to a total of 0.3% THC, effectively banning most vapes and gummies and further damaging an industry already impacted by SB494; and SB254, which would have completely prohibited THC drinks in the state.

We are frustrated with the ongoing political maneuvering in Congress. Many Georgia congressional representatives have held their positions for over two decades, and a coalition of concerned citizens believes it is time for a change in leadership. Our objectives are twofold: firstly, to combat SB494 through legal means, and secondly, to initiate primary challenges against politicians who we believe prioritize special interests over the well-being of their constituents.
